Note on the maps
The maps are generated using data from the GTG and GFS forecasts provided by NOAA/NWS. They are updated every 6 hours.
In the turbulence map, some regions at lower altitudes might not show data due to being below the terrain.
In the wind map, data is shown in all regions. In those below the terrain, the data is obtained interpolating between the closest available points over the terrain. Turbulence forecasts cannot do this due to safety concerns of plane collisions with mountains.
